How to Report Inaccurate Property Data (Misapplied Transactions, Incorrect Owners, and More)
Last updated: September 1, 2026
If you notice inaccurate information in ATTOM property data — such as a misapplied sale or mortgage, incorrect owner names, wrong foreclosure records, or a transaction that doesn't belong to a property — you can report it to the ATTOM Data Customer Care team for investigation and correction.
How to Submit a Data Issue
Email datacustomercare@attomdata.com with the following details to help the team investigate as quickly as possible:
ATTOM ID of the affected property
Property address
A clear description of the issue (e.g., "a 2020 sale is showing on this property but the homeowner says it never occurred")
The date and any names associated with the incorrect transaction
The API endpoint or raw data you are seeing the issue in, if applicable
Any supporting documentation, such as county records, screenshots, or JSON data
The more detail you provide upfront, the faster the team can investigate. In particular, providing the transaction ID, document ID, or raw API response can significantly speed up the process.
Tips for Faster Resolution
If the issue involves a transaction that appears to belong to a neighboring property with a similar address, mention both addresses in your report.
If you have access to county records or the county assessor's website confirming the correct data, include a link or screenshot.
If you receive data via batch file (FTP) rather than the API, note this so the team can confirm when the corrected record will appear in your next delivery file.
After a correction is confirmed, resync or re-pull the data from the API to verify the fix is reflected. If the issue reappears after a resync, report it again — occasionally a correction can be re-applied by an upstream source update, and the team can re-escalate.
